A lot of people like to decorate the front of their house for Halloween to make it fun for trick-or-treat. This isn’t required though.
To welcome trick-or-treaters, just make sure your porch light is on and it’s easy to access your doorway. Or meet trick-or-treaters at the edge of your property, closer to the street.
Regardless of trick-or-treaters, consider if you want to put up Halloween decorations inside your house.
Popular indoor areas for Halloween decorations include:
- Living room – fireplace, mantel, coffee table centerpiece
- Dining room – tablescape, sideboard
- Bathroom
- Kitchen
- Basement/Gameroom
It can take a while to put up and take down Halloween decorations, so some people just like to decorate one or two areas of their house for Halloween.
Also consider if you will be hosting a Halloween party. If so, make sure to decorate the areas where party guests will hang out (living room, dining room, etc.)
