Farmhouse Halloween Decor Ideas
Farmhouse decor has been so popular in the last few years and for good reason. This clean, chic looking decorating style makes for a causal, laid back vibe at home.
If your home is already decorated in a farmhouse, rustic or country theme, it’s easy to incorporate the same style decor for Halloween.
One of the things I like about using farmhouse style Halloween decorations is that they blend well with autumn and fall decor. If you’re someone that only wants to decorate once for both fall and Halloween, consider going with farmhouse themed decor.

Farmhouse Halloween Centerpieces
One of the easiest ways to decorate for Halloween or any other season is to create a centerpiece for your living room coffee table. If you’re unsure how to go about it, consider starting with a big tray that can be used to group decorative items together on your table.
Decorative Trays & Bowls
In the photo above, a woven tray holds a small pumpkin, rustic looking Halloween props and a vase of fall florals. The throw pillows on the couch help complete the Halloween farmhouse look. No bright colors here – farmhouse decorations are usually neutral or muted colors.
Farmhouse Halloween Tablescapes
If you like to entertain or even if you just have a dining room table that needs decorated, consider creating a farmhouse Halloween tablescape on your table this year.
Halloween Farmhouse Table Runners
To this, you’ll want to start with a rustic or country looking table runner. Linen type materials work well for this, including cheesecloth. Next add in some farmhouse themed florals and decorative objects. Give your tablescape a nice glow by incorporating candles into the look.
Farmhouse Halloween Decor Ideas for Kitchens
Do you have a little area in your kitchen that can be decorated for Halloween? If so, consider adding some farmhouse Halloween decorations to this space.
The kitchen counter above is styled using several wood & woven chargers, rustic looking candles, funky gourds and handmade spiders & bats. A simple approach to decorating an empty corner area in your kitchen for Halloween.
Coffee Bar Farmhouse Halloween Ideas
Are you a coffee addict? If so, maybe you have a space in your home that is dedicated to a coffee bar. Coffee bars are fun to decorate for each season, Halloween being no exception.
Halloween Coffee Bar
The coffee bar in the photo above is cleverly styled with Rae Dunn mugs and serving containers. Lots of farmhouse style ghost decorations, a cute Halloween ghost pitcher and “boo” themed decor help create a cohesive look for this space.
Rustic Halloween Decor Ideas for Vignettes
Another one of my favorite farmhouse Halloween ideas is to create a vignette. Vignettes can be setup anywhere in your space where there is a flat surface that needs a little extra decoration.
One thing to keep in mind when creating a vignette is to make sure the decorations are of different heights and shapes. The ghost vase in the photo above filled with rustic flowers provides the height needed to catch your eye for these farmhouse Halloween decorations.
Farmhouse Halloween Decor Ideas for Tiered Trays
Do you like to decorate a tiered tray for the holidays and seasons? Me too! If you haven’t got on board with this trend yet, it’s easy enough to start. All you need are pretty farmhouse style tiered trays.
Next, you’ll need a bunch of small decorative items that will fit on your tiered tray. You can use coffee mugs, small box signs and other little decorative items.

Rustic Halloween Decor Ideas for Mantel & Fireplace
Do you have a fireplace and mantel area in your home? If so, you’ll probably want to decorate it for Halloween this year. This area is often the focal point of the room, so whatever decorations you end up using will be sure to stand out.
When decorating this space, I like to start with the mantel and work my way down. On the mantel, farmhouse style Halloween signs can be placed towards the back and layered with other decorative objects such as lanterns, candles & figurines.
Halloween Farmhouse Signs
Below on the hearth, add some height to the decor by stacking items on crates and baskets. Garland hung from the mantel helps bring the whole look together.
Farmhouse Halloween Shelf Decor
Another one of my favorite farmhouse Halloween ideas is to create a Halloween display on shelves or within cabinets. If you have bookshelves in need of styling, consider creating a fun, farmhouse themed display on your shelves.
Farmhouse Halloween decorations are often very neutral, so if you have a bunch of colorful book covers, it might not work. One way around this is to turn the book covers against the wall, similar to what is shown in the photo above. This way, only the pages are showing which are generally shades of white or beige.
Add in other farmhouse style decor such as rustic, primitive looking pumpkins, jack o lanterns, witches & ghosts paired with country florals, signs & dishes. Garland hung from the top of the bookcase or cabinet creates a nice “topper”.
Farmhouse Halloween Entryways
Entryway areas in your house can be more than just a place to stash shoes and coats. Adding a sideboard to this space gives you an area to decorate for Halloween and other holidays.
In the image above, I like how this space was turned into a trick or treat candy station. Rustic cheese cloth paired with buffalo plaid pillows and weathered frames give it a country, farmhouse Halloween feel.
Farmhouse Halloween Front Porch Ideas
Many people like to decorate their front porch for Halloween as a way to welcome guests and trick or treaters. One of the challenges with decorating this space is finding ways to give your decor some height. Little decorative objects placed along the floor of the front porch won’t feel right for the space.
Instead, use wooden boxes, crates and baskets stacked on top of each other to create outdoor shelves. Farmhouse Halloween decorations layered within these shelves look great. Complete the look with some outdoor Halloween lighting effects.
Farmhouse Halloween Front Yard Ideas
Another area for fun Halloween decorations is your front yard. Many people like to go all out with scary animatronics and faux Halloween graveyards.
If you’re aiming for a farmhouse style Halloween front yard, consider using less scary decor instead. Simple, rustic Halloween signs paired with a wooden fence and some garland work well for a country themed Halloween yard.
Since farmhouse decor often uses neutral and white colors, you can’t go wrong with incorporating white and pale orange pumpkins into your Halloween front yard decorations. Pair them with mums, a wreath, modern looking lanterns along with a few Halloween props for a look that works for both fall and Halloween.
Farmhouse Style Wreaths for Halloween
Another very easy, simple way to decorate for the holidays and seasons is to hang a wreath from your front door. You can make wreaths yourself using craft supplies, or consider purchasing a premade wreath if you’re short on time.
Halloween Farmhouse Wreaths
For Halloween farmhouse style wreathes, you can’t go wrong with using pip berries, twine, branches and any other rustic looking floral. Cover these with faux cobwebs, spiders, bats, etc. for a spooky yet country look. Plaid ribbons and burlap will also work great for farmhouse Halloween wreaths.
Farmhouse Style Garland & Bunting for Halloween
I mentioned using garland for decorating bookcases and mantels, but you can hang Halloween garland just about anywhere within your home.
For farmhouse style Halloween garland, look for rustic burlap, pip berries, fall florals, buffalo plaids & checks as well as antique looking finishes.
If you’re crafty, consider making your own garland or bunting. This is a fun DIY project that allows you to choose the color schemes you want to use for your farmhouse Halloween decor ideas.
Farmhouse Style Signs for Halloween
Farmhouse decor is known for it’s use of decorative signs featuring fun sayings and quotes. A lot of people don’t like displaying sayings year round, but they can be fun to look at for a holiday season.
Rustic, weathered looking signs with phrases such as “trick or treat”, “boo”, “Happy Halloween”, etc. can add a festive touch to your front porch, living room and entryway area. Little box signs look great for farmhouse Halloween vignettes, tiered trays and centerpieces.
