So what’s going to be popular for Christmas trends for 2024/25? Now these are just my observations, but the following section lists some of the trends & themes I’m seeing on the market for Christmas decorating in 2024.

If you were hoping that the Barbie pink trend would go away, well it won’t be this year. In fact, pink Christmas decorations are back again and more whimsical then ever.

For a more Christmasy take on the pink theme, consider going with an all red Christmas tree color scheme for 2024. This is a popular search on Pinterest for this upcoming Christmas season.

More Mushroom With Woodland Creatures

We saw mushrooms as a trend last year in 2023 and retailers were going big on mushrooms this year for Halloween 2024. The theme continues for Christmas 2024.

So if you bought mushrooms last year or for Halloween this year, consider using them for your Christmas decorations. I’ve seen them in a wide variety of colors, but I love how nice they look with the classic Christmas red and greens and shown in the photo above.

RAZ Imports is incorporating mushrooms, gnomes and woodland creatures in the “Woodland Wonder” theme this year for a fun, rustic look.

All The Way To New Years Day – Glam, Black & Metallic Colors

Metallic shades are popular every year for Christmas, but this year, designers seem to be incorporating black into Christmas color schemes as well. Frontgate’s Noire Nouveau theme (as seen in the photo above) features black and white ornaments & ribbons paired with cream accents. I love this look for a flocked Christmas tree.

Adding black in with metallic shades makes me think of New Years Eve decorations. If you’re someone who likes to leave their Christmas tree up all the way into the New Year, maybe this is a way to decorate it for both holidays?

If you’re someone that’s always wanted to incorporate black shades into your Christmas color scheme, this would be a good year to keep an eye out for Christmas decorations with black finishes.

Pastels & Spring Florals

Most people think of pastel shades as being exclusively for spring and Easter decorations. And for the most part, they are.

But this year, designers are incorporating more pastels into the mix for Christmas themes in 2024. Paired with bronze and muted gold accents, they make for a Christmas tree color scheme. If you like to do a French Country Christmas theme, then expect to add some unique pastel accents to your collection this year.

I’ve also seen a good variety of spring florals being incorporated into Christmas decor. If you have a some hydrangeas you use for your spring decorations, consider adding them to your Christmas tree this year.

Frosty Mint

Speaking of pastel colors, one in particular stands out this year and that’s what many are calling “frosty mint”. This pale green shade is being paired with “icy” themed ornaments and decorations for a beautiful “Winter Wonderland” kind of look.

If you like to do all white Christmas trees, consider adding a pop of mint green color this year to be on trend for Christmas 2024. Soft metallic shades complete the look.

Cranberry, Coral Pink & Bronze Colors

Another unique Christmas trend for 2024 is using cranberry, coral pink and bronze decorations. You might not think of these shades for Christmas, as they tend to be more for fall decorating.

Whimsical Ornament Collections

Every year, there’s always tons of cute Christmas tree ornaments to choose from and add to your collection. But in 2024, designers seem to be leaning towards simple trees full of whimsical ornaments in fun colors.
